- A better understanding of medicine: self-explanatory, I think. Away from the rich wood-paneling and flat screen TVs of NMH, I want to learn a different way of doing things.
- Personal insight: less self-explanatory. I’m expecting this trip to change me, at the core, in some way, for the better. To teach me something about myself I never knew.
- Avoid contracting an infectious disease: I’m actually not sure how achievable this goal is but here’s to hoping.
- Impact someone’s life in a meaningful way.
- Live out my childhood obsession with the Lion King and see some kind of African wildlife up close.
- Avoid getting eaten/mauled by said wildlife mentioned above.
- Experience Ugandan culture, food, dance, music, life.
- NOT lose my camera or passport. In reference to Eurotrip 2009. Lesson learned…(?)
- Update this blog regularly. I’m giving myself a goal of 3x/week.
Overall I hope this trip will help me to be a better physician as graduation slowly creeps up. See you all stateside in March!
